新しい広告の形？"branded entertainment"

全米広告主協会（ANA）によるサーベイ調査によれば
63％のマーケターが「昨年branded entertainment projectに参加した」
と回答したという via Adrants

広告とエンターテイメント産業の統合・「branded entertainment」は
単なるプロダクトプレイスメントに留まらず
“適切なコンテキストにおけるプロダクトの統合”（by ANA)である。

A convergence of the advertising and entertainment industries, branded entertainment is more than just product placement, according to the ANA; it is the integration of a product within an appropriate context.

また、同調査で42％のマーケターがbranded entertainmentを
marketing mixに統合することの一番のベネフィットは
「消費者との強い感情的なコネクションを築けること」と答えている。

この数字は回答者によって選択された、他のベネフィットの2倍に上った。

また、同AMAのTVフォーラムの席上にて
CBS会長Leslie Moonves氏は
branded entertainmentの需要が高まっていることを受けて
brand integration feeを（広告費とは別途に）別途徴収することを
検討していると述べている。

CBSは現在、プロダクトプレイスメントの費用を別途徴収しておらず
価格設定は広告代理店とクライアント、メディアの水面下で行われている。
しかし、The Apprenticeなどを手がけるMark Burnett Productionsと
プロダクトプレイスメントエージェンシーMadison Roadの間で
プロダクトプレイスメントの収益配分に関して法廷闘争を繰り広げており
これも一つの契機になったと思われる。
